Introduction

J13 Digital LLC ("we," "us," or "our") operates the ScreenBuddy mobile application (the "App"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and want you to understand exactly how we handle information.

The simple truth: ScreenBuddy collects minimal data. Your screen time habits, app selections, and pause history never leave your device. The only data processed externally is subscription-related information handled by Apple and our subscription management provider, RevenueCat.

Information We Do NOT Collect

ScreenBuddy operates almost entirely on your device. We do not collect:

  • Personal information (name, email, phone number)

  • Device information or identifiers

  • Usage analytics or crash reports

  • Screen time data or app usage statistics

  • Location data

  • Any data from your limited apps

How ScreenBuddy Works

ScreenBuddy uses Apple's Screen Time and Family Controls frameworks to help you manage your app usage. The following data is stored locally on your device only:

  • Your app selections (which apps you choose to limit)

  • Your pause history and remaining daily pause budget

  • Your notification preferences

  • App settings and configurations

We cannot see, access, or retrieve any of this information.

iOS Permissions We Request

To function properly, ScreenBuddy requests the following permissions:

Screen Time / Family Controls

  • Why we need it: To limit and unlimit apps based on your pause budget

  • What we access: Only the ability to restrict apps you select

  • What we don't see: We cannot see your screen time data or usage statistics

Notifications

  • Why we need it: To send pause reminders and help you stay aware of your remaining pause budget

  • What we don't do: We do not use notifications for marketing or advertising

Subscription and Payment Processing

If you choose to purchase a premium subscription:

  • Payments are processed through Apple's App Store

  • We do not have access to your payment information (credit card, billing address, etc.)

  • Apple manages all subscription billing and renewal

Third-Party Services

ScreenBuddy uses the following third-party service:

RevenueCat (Subscription Management)

We use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions and verify purchases. RevenueCat processes the following data:

  • Purchase history: Information about your subscription status, transactions, and renewal dates

  • Anonymous App User ID: A randomly generated identifier used to track your subscription status (this is not linked to your personal identity)

  • Receipt data: Purchase receipts from Apple for validation purposes

This data is processed on RevenueCat's servers in the United States. RevenueCat does not have access to your personal information, screen time data, or app usage patterns.

We do not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.

Data Storage and Security

Since most data is stored locally on your device:

  • Your information is protected by your device's security measures

  • We recommend using a passcode or Face ID/Touch ID on your device

  • If you delete the app, all associated local data is removed from your device

  • We have no ability to recover deleted local data

Children's Privacy

ScreenBuddy does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. The app is designed for users who can independently manage their device settings.

Your Rights

Since we collect minimal data, you have the following rights:

  • Delete the app and all associated local data at any time

  • Manage your subscription through your Apple ID settings

  • Request deletion of your RevenueCat data by contacting us

  • Contact us with any privacy questions or concerns

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by:

  • Updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy

  • Providing a notice within the app for significant changes
